This notice explains how A Hand at Home handles personal information when you use this website or contact me about home help and companionship.
Who handles your information
Nikki McLean, trading as A Hand at Home, is responsible for enquiry information you share with the business. You can contact me at [email protected] or 07801 533260.
Information you choose to share
When you call, text, email or use the enquiry form, I may receive your name, contact details, address or general area, the help you are looking for and your message. If you enquire for someone else, share only what is needed and make sure they know you are contacting me where appropriate.
Please keep an initial enquiry general. Do not send medical records, medication lists or other sensitive information through this form. If further information is needed to arrange support, we will discuss how to handle it separately.
Why the information is used
I use enquiry information to respond, check coverage and availability, discuss your needs and make arrangements you request. For a service you are considering for yourself, this may involve taking steps at your request before entering a contract. For other general enquiries, the basis is the legitimate interest in responding and running the business, balanced against your rights.
I do not add enquiries to a marketing list or publish their details as testimonials. Optional family updates are agreed with the person receiving the visits.
The online enquiry form
The contact page uses Cognito Forms to display the enquiry form and process information you submit. Opening that page connects your browser to Cognito Forms and the resources needed for the form. Technical information, such as your IP address and browser details, is also processed to deliver and protect it. This is separate from optional Google Analytics.
The form is used to handle your enquiry. You can choose to call, text or email instead. Cognito Forms is a US-based provider, so using the form can involve processing outside the UK. Its published privacy and data-processing terms explain its processing and transfer safeguards. Contact me if you would like further information about the providers used for your enquiry.
Optional website analytics
Google Analytics is loaded only after you choose Allow analytics. It helps me understand visits, pages viewed and website use. Google may process device and browser information, approximate location, page activity and technical identifiers. Analytics is optional and is based on your consent.
You can reject analytics and still use the website and enquiry form. Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice. The website keeps advertising consent denied and disables Google Signals in its tag configuration. Its own analytics code does not read enquiry fields and strips query strings and fragments from page addresses sent in its configuration. Google may process information outside the UK under its applicable data-processing and transfer terms.
Website, email and security providers
Hosting, security and email providers process the technical information or correspondence needed to provide their services. Technical records can include an IP address, request time, browser details and the requested page. Information is shared where needed to operate or protect the service or meet legal obligations.
The website’s own images and fonts are hosted with the site. The embedded form may load supporting resources from its provider. Calling, texting or emailing opens the service or application you choose, whose provider has its own privacy terms.
Keeping information
Enquiry records are kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond, follow up requested arrangements and deal with relevant records or disputes. Information no longer needed is deleted or securely disposed of. Necessary service and financial records are handled separately when an enquiry becomes a service relationship.
The website remembers your analytics choice for six months. Its Google tag limits its own Analytics cookies to six months without extending their expiry on each visit. You can withdraw permission earlier using Cookie settings.
Your rights and concerns
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, erasure or restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and request portability where it applies. Withdrawing Analytics consent does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.
